Description of Award

The Integral Institute is very proud to offer the Integral Life Award, an annual merit-based award of $10,000 for new students in either the Integral Theory Certificate or Master's programs at John F. Kennedy University or Fielding Graduate University. The Award will be given to the applicant who most effectively demonstrates the potential and capacity to make a difference in the world through the application of integral principles in both their personal and professional endeavors. This award includes a one-on-one dinner with Ken Wilber. (The student will be responsible for travel and accommodation arrangements associated with the trip. )

In addition, Integral Institute is excited to announce that it is providing $10,000 for scholarships and integral research grants for students in the online MA in Integral Theory at JFKU.

Applicants will submit an essay in response to several questions and guidelines. Submit applications to Clint Fuhs at cfuhs@integralinstitute.org.

Timeline:

Nov. 15th - Completed applications to be due from students
Dec. 1st - Top three applicants choosen for interviews
Dec. 20th - Awardees will be notified
Jan. 31st - Payment provided to awardees

Essay Questions:

Please summarize in 6-8 single-spaced pages about how you plan to make a difference in the world using an integral approach by addressing the following:

1. Briefly describe when you first encountered Ken Wilber’s integral vision and your initial relationship to the AQAL model.

2. Reflect on what is an Integral life and how have you lead one and what are you doing now to ensure that you will continue to live a life informed by integral principles?

3. Describe what your growing edge is.

4. Explain what the challenges are, as you see them, for an integral approach in a field or area of your choice.

5. Describe your Integral Life Practice or the various ways you exercise multiple aspects of your awareness?

6. Also include a description of your aspirations for receiving this award, considering the following question: How are you serving the manifestation of a more Integral world?
